Are you optimistic about 2030?
Yeah. I am. But also I know that whatever development is made, it'll be driven by two forces - a constructive and a destructive one. Look at the medical industry: Every time we manage to discover a new medicine, it leads to new toxins and multirestistant becteria. Progress isn't just progress. One of the best examples of that is violence; sometimes you need violence to develop - violent words to be honest, violent desicions to be clear about what you want. As much as I feel like we'll see huge steps forward, there will also be more drawbacks than we expect. Like when whole world expected Obama to be a brilliant peacemaker as the Nobel Prize winner and a symbol for black rights. But then the Obama administration also turned out to be the government increasing the number of troops in the Middle East, the government that deported most Latinos and at the same time increased drug traffic. As Walter Benjamin said: "Every monument of civilization is a document of barbarism." Yet the societies still progress. Even now with Trump as Obama's successor - it doesn't necessarily have to be a big step backwards, we just have to tackle some more violence.
